Arrive as Strangers, Leave as Friends
If you’re open to trying new adventures this summer, we’d love to suggest a river trip down the Ocoee. It’s the ultimate way to enjoy all that summer has to offer with sunshine, fun exercise, and a river for cooling off when it gets too hot. You may begin your trip with a group of strangers, but you will leave as friends.
If you’ve never been on a river rafting trip before, it might look a little intimidating. Perhaps you’ve watched videos of people crashing through angry-looking rapids. Not everyone wants to be tossed into churning water. But have no fear—a rafting trip can be fun and relaxing, even if you’re not a hardcore adrenaline junkie. Expect a major sense of accomplishment. You’re capable of more than you think you are.
Most outdoor activities can be tackled alone or with one or two other people, but rafting is a group effort. It’s a great way to reconnect with your friends, or even make totally new friends. At Outland, expect to arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
There’s nothing that bonds people’s souls more than nature, adrenaline, and a little bit of old-fashioned fear. You’ll need to work together to get down the river safely, and this kind of coordinated group effort is a powerful way to make new connections with some good laughs along the way.

If you’re contemplating a river trip but don’t have anyone to go with, please don’t let that stop you! You’ll have a friend at the outpost right away—your river guide. You’ll then board the bus to take the short ride down to the river’s entrance, and this is the perfect opportunity to get to know your crew before you actually board the raft. By the time you take off and get a few paddles in, you’ll be totally comfortable. When it’s over, we’re sure you’ll want to go again.
Don’t be afraid to meet new people, shake a few hands, and bump your paddles. BOOK YOUR RAFTING TRIP ON THE OCOEE RIVER WITH OUTLAND EXPEDITIONS, HERE!
